May 2019: Plan With Me

Designed by @stefanta.art

I can’t believe we’re five months into 2019 already. So crazy how fast time is flying by! I wanted to share my planning process for May, and perhaps turn this into a monthly feature. I love bullet journalling and try to do it daily. It’s not only a great organizational tool, but a fun and creative outlet!

The Basics

Every month, I start out with a colour theme and pick out the brush pens, fine liners, and pens that go with it. For May, I chose purple.

I use the Leutchrum dotted notebook, which is very popular in the bujo community. I have a protective cover around it from Hobonichi. The notebook is hardcover, so it’s pretty sturdy on its own, but I like having the cover because it has several pockets for storage. I use them for stencils, stickers, washi tape, and other tools.

I start out with a monthly spread. I don’t find it necessary to do weekly planning unless it’s going to be a busy week. Typically, I just go day by day. This is great because I don’t waste space or feel bad if I don’t have time to journal every day.

Next, I like to print out some pictures to go with the theme. One page of pictures is usually enough for the entire month.

For Fun

I’m going on a road trip to Florida next week, which I’m super excited about. I created a packing list to make sure I have everything I’ll need. I’m not the greatest artist, but I managed to make these doodles based off of searches for cartoon objects on Google Images.

It was exam season last month, so I didn’t do a lot of bullet journalling, but hopefully I’ll have some nice spreads to do a flip through at the end of May. Do you keep a bullet journal? I’m always on the lookout for new ideas to try out in my journal, so feel free to discuss with me in the comments!
