Books of the romance genre are probably my favourite to read. Yes, I like to read epic adventures with bad-ass female leads, but sometimes I’ve got to put away the sword in favour for a rose. Here are five romantic books I’ve read and enjoyed, as well as five I’d like to read.

1. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Compared to other books out there, I know Twilight may not top many peoples’ lists, but personally, I loved this book when I first read it back in middle school. I like to think of this book as my intro into YA romance.

3. I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
I’ve yet to read a book by Sophie that I didn’t love. Her writing is hilarious, her characters are lovable, and her stories are a heck of a good time. Her easy to read romances are my go-to for getting out of slumps. (Confessions of a Shopaholic anyone?)

5. 10 Reasons Not to Fall in Love by Linda Green
Gosh, I read this so long ago, I only remember bits and pieces of the plot. I do remember though, that Green’s writing style reminds me of Kinsella’s. It’s funny, cute, and a quick to read.

7. When We Collided by Emery Lord
Piling on the contemporaries for when the warm weather is here! (Which by the looks of it, won’t be arriving anytime soon.) I’ve heard many people have conflicted feelings about this book, so I’m really not sure what to expect of it. I guess we’ll just have to see!

9. The Siren by Kiera Cass
I’ve read The Selection, and enjoyed it well enough (not particularly fond of The Heir though), so I’d like to hope I’ll like this book as well. It sounds pretty interesting.
