Springtime always makes me want to read contemporary and romance. I suppose it’s the freshness of the air, and the heavy rain outside that makes me want to curl up under covers and read a nice love story. Here are ten books I’m planning to read this spring, composed of mostly–you guessed it– romance novels.
1. Always and Forever, Lara Jean (Lara Jean 3) by Jenny Han
My number one anticipated release of 2017 is coming out in May! AND Jenny Han is coming to Toronto. How could this get any better?

SYNOPSIS

2. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
I’ve read Yoon’s Everything, Everything and absolutely fell in love with her characters and her storytelling. I can’t WAIT to read this one.

3. The Young Elites (The Young Elites 1) by Marie Lu
I started this book more than YEAR ago, but couldn’t get past the first fifty pages. Lu’s Legend series is one of my favourites of all-time, so I’m upset this book didn’t give me the same impression. I’m more than willing to give it another shot though!
SYNOPSIS

4. A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I will be meeting Sarah J. Maas this May for her A Court of Wings and Ruin tour, so I should probably start reading the series … 🙂 I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about this series, so I have no doubt I’ll enjoy it.

5. Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith
I’ve been in the mood for a sweet Jennifer E. Smith novel. She has a way of creating relationships that I low-key want for myself.
SYNOPSIS

Over the course of twelve hours, they retrace the steps of their relationship, trying to find something in their past that might help them decide what their future should be. 6. The Crown (The Selection 5) by Kiera Cass
I’ve put off finishing the series for so long now, partly due to my distaste for the MC, but I do want to see this series to the end, so I’ll probably end up reading it soon.

When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. 7. Stay With Me (Wait for Me 3) by J. Lynn
I have just adored all of J. Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout’s young adult and new adult novels. Definitely recommend if you’re into the genre.

At 21, Calla hasn’t done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement park. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should. She still carries the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.

Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought she’d left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.
Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from the moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal . . . and maybe something more. 8. A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire 1) by George R. R. Martin
This is going to be my ‘challenge’ read this time around. I’ve been putting off watching the TV show so I could read it (I may or may not have watched a couple episodes already), but I just haven’t had the time to invest in such a heavy book. Hopefully I’ll have time for it before school gets too busy.

9. Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices 1) by Cassandra Clare
I love the Shadowhunter universe and this novel will catch me up with Cassandra Clare’s works. Super excited to read it!

10. Six of Crows (Six of Crows 1) by Leigh Bardugo
Ah, yet another book I’ve put off reading due to commitment issues.
SYNOPSIS
