Hello dear readers, I’m starting a new segment on my blog called Checked Out to feature books that I’ve recently picked up from the library. I think these will be super fun to do, and I hope you will enjoy them. Without further ado, here are the spoils from my latest journey.

1. Unite Me by Tahereh Mafi
I have read and enjoyed the Shatter Me series, so when I saw this, I had to pick it up! It is a compilation of two novellas, Destroy Me and Fracture Me, as well as pages from Juliette’s journal. I highly recommend this series, but I have found that it is a hit-or-miss with most.
Destroy Me is in the POV of Warner, one of the love interests in the series. Fracture Me is in the POV of the other love interest Adam. I’m really excited to see the story through their perspectives.

Also, J. Lynn is an alias under Jennifer L. Armentrout, whose books I always love. I recommend The Dark Elements series by this author.
3. The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
I picked up this book on a whim; the cover looked cool and the synopsis is oh-so-intriguing. I don’t think I can describe it in the way I want to express, so here is the summary from Goodreads:
Nix has spent her entire life aboard her father’s ship, sailing across the centuries, across the world, across myth and imagination.
As long as her father has a map for it, he can sail to any time, any place, real or imagined: nineteenth-century China, the land from One Thousand and One Nights, a mythic version of Africa. Along the way they have found crewmates and friends, and even a disarming thief who could come to mean much more to Nix.
But the end to it all looms closer every day.
Her father is obsessed with obtaining the one map, 1868 Honolulu, that could take him back to his lost love, Nix’s mother. Even though getting it—and going there—could erase Nix’s very existence.
For the first time, Nix is entering unknown waters.
She could find herself, find her family, find her own fantastical ability, her own epic love.
Or she could disappear.
AHH, doesn’t it sound good?
And there we have it! This is a small stack for sure, but I’m trying to limit myself since I have so many books on hand that I need to read. Hopefully I will be able to make a large dent in my TBR pile this summer.
What books have you recently checked out? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
